α7 Nicotinic Receptor

SER-400 is a series of orally-bioavailable α7 nicotinic receptor agonists in development at Serenity Bio.

How does it work?

α7 nicotinic receptors are the force of anti-inflammation behind vagus nerve stimulation. This type of stimulation is commonly referred to as an 'anti-inflammatory reflex' because signals emanate from the central nervous system to dampen responses in the immune system.

What diseases can benefit?

Inflammation and pain indications where there are needs for novel approaches that avoid addictive properties.

Demonstrated in multiple pre-clinical models

Agonists for α7 nicotinic receptors have been well-characterized in a variety of mouse models and in human cells.
